Cost saving measures of £2m can’t help Filtronic

DESIGNER and manufacturer of microwave electronics products, Filtronic, is having a difficult year.
Despite cost cutting measures, which have reportedly resulted in operating expenditure being reduced by £2m, the firm is still expecting poor results.
The firm has been able to cut this by closing its Californian offices, as well as job cuts at head office.
The wireless telecoms infrastructure supplier has said that the wireless and broadband businesses traded “in line” with the board’s expectations, which weren’t high.
This last quarter delivered full year unaudited turnovers of £10.3m (2014: £23.1m) and £7.2m (2013: £9.7m) respectively.
The results for the financial year ended 31 May 2015 will be announced on 21 September 2015.
