York developers sign £8m contract with Malmaison

PROPERTY developers S Harrison have signed an agreement with Malmaison Hotel du Vin

They will be delivering a hotel and bistro in Stratford-Upon-Avon for Malmaison, who also have sites in Leeds, Harrogate and York.

Subject to planning approval, the York-based developers will restore and extend the listed Georgian buildings which are currently owned by the Town Trust.

The win is part of Harrison’s intention to grow its nationwide pipeline.

Director David Clancy said: “We have an excellent delivery track record of successfully regenerating older buildings in sensitive locations and we are delighted at the prospect of working with Malmaison Hotel du Vin and the Town Trust on this exciting development.”

If all goes to plan, the hotel and restaurant will create 60 jobs

Paul Roberts, chief executive of Malmaison Hotel du Vin, said: “We are extremely excited about opening Hotel du Vin in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon.

“The hotel’s lifestyle brand is a perfect fit for those attracted to the stunning and thought-provoking Shakespearean sites that make Stratford-upon-Avon such a global destination.

“This development represents Malmaison Hotel du Vin’s significant growth prospects and commitment to deliver exceptional customers experience in stunning surroundings.”
