Acquisitions puts office supplier on track for national footprint

YORKSHIRE-BASED Complete Office Solutions (COS) is continuing its expansion strategy with three acquisitions that will take the group’s turnover above £50m, as it targets £120m within five years.
It bought the two companies that make up the Advantage Group – Advantage Business Supplies, based in Hereford, and Advantage Office Supplies Systems in Cheshire – which followed the separate acquisition of Concept Office Supplies.
The three acquisitions will add £7.5m to the group’s turnover, pushing it above £50m.
COS now has eight sites in the UK and Concept has already been relocated into COS’s Wakefield site but both Advantage sites will remain as regional sales and distribution centres and be rebranded as COS later this year.
“We are about to embark on the most exciting chapter in our history as we expand nationally,” said COS chief executive Richard Coulson. “We intend to keep progressing both organically and by further acquisition and we are supremely confident of building a national company with sales revenues in excess £120m per annum with sites containing regional sales teams, customer service and distribution, covering all areas of the UK within the next five years and I am currently considering investment offers to expedite this plan.”
