From waste to waves as entrepreneur launches yacht venture

BUSINESSMAN Matt Miles, who recently unveiled a £1m investment in the expansion of recycling business Lili Waste into Leeds, has launched a Mediterranean yacht firm.

In an interesting change of focus, Mr Miles invested over €1.5m in his venture, an independent yacht charter firm dubbed Sea Amigos, operating out of the port of St Eulalia in Ibiza.

In May, Mr Miles’ firm Lili Waste, which had been operating in Hull, expanded its footprint into Leeds, with a £500,000 investment in Morley processing facilities.

Lili Waste will now serve Leeds as well as Bradford, Wakefield, Otley and Ilkley, after launching in Hull less than a year ago

Mr Miles said: “I have been visiting Ibiza by boat, for years, and while its famous nightlife is understandably one of the island’s biggest draws, the essence of Ibiza can be found along its shoreline, with numerous party or relaxing bays waiting to be explored.

“We hope to offer tourists a unique experience, allowing them to soak up Ibiza’s atmosphere in style and rub shoulders with The White Isle’s rich and famous. Just last week, we moored up alongside Giorgio Armani!”
