Appointments: Yorkshire Bank, CGL, AIS and International Personal Finance

THE head of Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking centre in Hull has been appointed.

Anthony Hutt, who was formerly a relationship manager at the centre, now leads to team at Yorkshire Bank’s Prospect Centre offices, taking over from Brian Lake, who has been promoted to head of business and private banking across the north east.

Marnie Daker has also joined the team in Hull as a relationship manager after working for the bank for 13 years in Doncaster and Leeds.

Anthony Hutt, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Hull and Humber, said: “There could not be a more exciting time for me to take on this role.

“We’ve seen a major series of job creation opportunities in the region with Siemens at Green Port Hull at Alexandra Dock and Able Marine Energy Park on the south bank of the Humber.

“As well as bringing new people to the area and giving a boost to the local economy, the focus on renewable energy also creates a tremendous opportunity for business across the region to feed into the supply chain.”

GEOTECHNICAL consultancy CGL has appointed Bryn Jones as associate director at their Harrogate offices.

THe geoenvironmental agency hired Mr Jones after 12 years in the industry, including work on major civil engineering projects for the rail, highways, the private sector and local authorities.

Projects include the Hatfield Colliery landslip, Crossrail and Thameslink depots at Hornsey and Three Bridges.

Richard Pennock, regional director of CGL Harrogate said: “Bryn’s expertise on geotechnical design, his knowledge and commercial management of major infrastructure projects across the UK strengthens CGL’s services to our current and future clients.”

CGL offer a full range of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering services to businesses primarily in the energy, residential housing, infrastructure and commercial and retail sectors.

INDUSTRIAL trainer AIS has appointed Chris Holden to manage its multi-million training village in Lincolnshire, which opens in August.

Based at the HCF CATCH facility near Grimsby, AIS will provide training in the energy, engineering and renewables industries in the Humber region.

Mr Holden will be responsible for managing the multi-million pound facility, which is being constructed in two phases, with the final phase to be completed in early 2016.

Mr Holden joins AIS from RES Group, where he was responsible for managing operations on some of the world’s largest offshore wind projects.
He was also operations manager at Carillion overseeing all the maintenance of Yorkshire Water’s 2,300 waste water treatment plants.

He said: “This area is well recognised as being at the heart of the UK’s wind industry and also has a booming chemical sector so I see lots of untapped opportunities to establish the AIS brand and make us number one choice for raising standards and competencies.

“I also see huge potential for promoting the innovative passive fire protection products and services that AIS Technical offers in the area.”

LEEDS-BASED International Personal Finance plc has appointed independent non-executive John Mangelaars to its board.

Mr Mangelaars is currently the chief executive of online travel agency Travix International and previously worked for Microsoft for over 20 years.

Dan O’Connor, chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome John as a non-executive director.

“His experience in sales and e-commerce will be a valuable addition to the board as we seek to expand our digital lending business and increase our penetration in online sales channels.”
