Entrepreneur launches firm to tackle “unscrupulous employees”

A FORMER employee at the Serious Organised Crime Agency (now known as NCA) has launched her own private investigation firm for businesses.
Sarah Barker has also worked for the Solicitors Regulation Authority, an arm of the Law Society, but is now branching out on her own.
THIRTEEN Research and Investigation Ltd will be based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. It will be working with businesses across the North to identify threats to their businesses, conducting internal investigations
“To most people, the world of Private Investigation conjures up images of men hiding in bushes with binoculars.
She said: “I have seen a number of businesses fail due to unscrupulous employees, or very lax procedures in-house which leave them open to fraud.
“I wanted to start the business because I genuinely have a passion for investigating having done this throughout my entire career and I wanted to use this experience to help businesses of all size with all aspects of research and investigation.
“Although I have always loved my previous roles, having my own business means I am able to be flexible and provide a tailored service to each client, whether they want staff training on fraud or producing a series of witness statements for an ongoing investigation.”
