Leeds law firm expands footprint with merger

LEGAL services firm LCF Law is merging with Harrogate firm Barber Titleys to boost the firm’s property and personal legal advice divisions.

Harrogate-based Barber Titleys, which will be renamed LCF Barber Titleys, focuses on planning and personal legal advice to North Yorkshire clients.

LCF Law has branches in Leeds, Bradford and Ilkley, and specialises in corporate, property and dispute resolution.

It has a team of 95 across its offices, which will be boosted by a staff of 25 from Barber Titleys.

LCF Law’s managing partner Simon Stell says: “We know the partners and many of Barber Titleys’ staff well, and have been aware of their first rate services and enviable reputation throughout Harrogate and beyond for a long time. The merger will extend our commercial law services to Harrogate and North Yorkshire based businesses whilst also strengthening our personal law team across all of our offices and adding new services such as planning law.

“LCF Law and Barber Titleys have complementary services and a common ethos. The merger of the two firms will strengthen both businesses and increase skills, expertise and the range of legal services to all of the respective firms’ customers.”

LCF Law recently relocated its Bradford headquarters into an 11,000 sq ft office space at One St James Business Park.

LCF Law reported steady growth in staff numbers and a 15% increase in turnover across all three of offices over the last year. LCF Law is a Limited company and an Alternative Business Structure (ABS).

Mr Stell added: “The legal services market has changed over recent years, and as it continues to consolidate, more and more firms are joining forces to strengthen and enhance the services on offer to clients.

“It’s therefore a very exciting time for LCF Law and Barber Titleys, as the merger will enable our entire teams to benefit from each other’s experience and specialisms, whilst also giving our loyal clients access to a wide range of accessible, affordable legal services and jargon-free advice.”

Barber Titleys was created in 1997 by the merger of former firms Barber Robinson, which was established in 1880, and Titleys Paver-Crow and Fedden, which was established in 1883.
