Greyhound rescue centre expands after bank boost

A GREYHOUND rescue centre in Doncaster is expanding after being given bank support.

Tia Greyhound Rescue centre will move to bigger premises after the firm received fudning from NatWest.

The rescue centre provides a safe refuge for mainly Greyhounds and Lurchers, and has recently opened a new Heavy Horse Centre.

Tia Rescue Centre was established 19 years ago and has previously been located in various sites in the Calder Valley.

The centre will now be able to hold up to 200 greyhounds that have finished their racing careers.

The expansion will also include a cafe, visitors centre, a learning centre for the local schools and a play area.

Building works have already started and the first kennel block was recently unveiled.

Debra Rothery the founder of the charity turned to her business manager at NatWest, Richard Wood. The charity has been working with the bank for eight years so it was an obvious choice to return to the NatWest.

She said “Richard has a good understanding of our charity and what we want to achieve.”

Richard said “I was delighted to support Tia Rescue Centre with its expansion. The centre provides an important service and I wish it every success in the future.”
