A CHAIRMAN has been appointed at technology firm Oriium.

Ryan McCarry will take on the role at the Wetherby-based firm, which provides data management and infrastructure consulting.

The firm has also sold a 16% stake in the business as it moves forward with its development.

The company has been ranked as one of Deloitte UK’s top 50 fast-growing technology businesses and is seeking a hat-trick at the 2015 awards later this year.

Mr McCarry, from Harrogate, is the founder of internet infrastructure provider, Sleek Networks, which was acquired by Adapt in 2013.

Established in 2007 by Chris Kiaie, Oriium currently employs a team of 35, initially launching with just two founding members of staff, and has relocated to larger premises in Wetherby in the last year.

Mr McCarry said: “It is a huge privilege to be a part of the next stage of Oriium’s growth and I’m really looking forward to the journey ahead. This is a great opportunity to work with an incredible team with an outstanding industry reputation.

“Given the growth of the business and success that Chris has created to date, I believe that Oriium will be the go-to provider to the channel market in the UK.”

Oriium founder Chris Kiaie said: “Oriium is at an exciting stage in its development and we are really pleased to have Ryan on board as chairman.

“His experience and roles to date have given him the attributes to help shape high quality businesses that meet and exceed customer expectations.”
