YORK law firm Harland & Co Solicitors has appointed Dorothy Appleby to its private client department, who joins from Hull firm Pepperells Solicitors.
Ms Appleby studied law at Leeds Metropolitan University and at The College of Law in York, Dorothy undertook her training at a leading law firm in Hull where she qualified as a Solicitor. The move to Harland & Co brings her back to her hometown of York.
Stephen Morgan, director at Harland & Co and head of the firm’s private client department said “Her knowledge and enthusiasm will strengthen our team and our ability to continue to provide a friendly and efficient service to all of our clients, both existing and new.”

FORMER Sadofskys partner Andy Jewitt has joined 360 Chartered Accountants in Hull as a director.
Mr Jewitt has spent the last 16 months as finance director at Construction Works (Hull) after two decades at Sadofskys, where he was an equity partner.
Andy Steele, founding director of 360 Chartered Accountants, said: “We have experienced a rapid growth as a company since we opened five years ago and Andy Jewitt’s arrival as director is proof of how far we’ve come in such a short time.”
Mr Jewitt’s role will be both strategic and operational – he will be responsible for heading up 360’s academies department, while also be involved in business development and marketing. He joins a firm with 16 staff across its offices in Hull and Melton.

YORK-BASED solicitors Langleys have promoted seven employees.
From the insurance division, Carol Dalton and Laura Collins and Tamsin Cooper, who has responsibility for quality and compliance, have been made partners.
Also from the insurance department, Emma Cahill and Sean Riley have been promoted to senior associates. James Bradley of the firm’s commercial property unit and Sarah Dalton, insurance, have become associates.

“All staff promoted this year have performed exceptionally well. I congratulate each of them on their richly deserved promotions.”
