University of Leeds awards £37.8m contracts to Galliford Try

THE University of Leeds has awarded two contracts worth £37.8m to construction group Galliford Try.
The Engineering Building at the University’s main Woodhouse campus is having £22.5m invested to refurbish three floors and complete a maintenance backlog throughout the rest of the property.
The University’s Grade II-listed Edward Boyle Library will benefit from a £15.3m refurbishment across all six floors which will also see the engineering systems and roof replaced.
 
“We are delighted to have been able to maintain the strong ties that our Yorkshire office has with the University of Leeds with these successes,” said Greg Fitzgerald, executive chairman of Galliford Try.
“The strategy for our construction business is based on long-term relationships with respected clients and these two contracts are an excellent example of that approach.”
