Merger for West Yorkshire accountants

ACCOUNTANCY firm Sunderland Driver is merging with another West Yorkshire practice in a joint venture which will see the current principal hand over the reins to a new partner.

Horsforth-based practice Sunderland Driver will merge with the Keighley firm Burrow & Crowe with Sunderland principal Robert Greenwood handing over to Jon Crossley, partner at Burrow & Crowe.

The new firm will trade as BC Sunderland Driver.

Sunderland Driver originally launched in 1950, with Mr Greenwood taking over in 1993.

He said:”I have seen many changes since I started as an accountant – from computerisation, to self assessment, auto-enrolment and cloud accounting – and I feel it is time to hand over the baton.

“The change will be smooth and problem free for our many loyal clients who will continue to get the best, relevant up to date advice.

“I am delighted to announce the joint venture with Burrow & Crowe Accountants, creating the new BC Sunderland Driver Accountants & Business Advisers.
“Although the name has changed, everything else will be pretty much the same.”

He will be also be joined by David Pollitt, Jon’s business partner, and Joel Sendrowski, a manager from Burrow & Crowe, who lives in nearby Cowling.

“I will be staying on as a consultant for the next few years, ensuring we continue to give our clients the great service they expect and deserve,” Mr Greenwood finished.
