City’s businesses in spotlight in week-long series of events

FINAL preparations are underway for the third Leeds Business Week, which takes place between October 12-16.
More than 100 business-focused events will be held across the city, from seminars and workshops to exhibitions, master classes and drinks evenings.
Becky Black, director at Yorkshire Mafia, said: “For one week every year, we aim to bring together the region’s businesses and wider groups to share their expertise, build better business relationships and to inspire growth and innovation.
“Leeds is home to a diverse range of businesses, ranging from micro organisations to large, multi-national companies and Leeds Business Week is a celebration of the city’s assorted business landscape.”
Highlights include Leeds City Summit on October 12, which will have a panel of Richard Flint, chief executive at Sky Betting and Gaming, Leeds City Council leader Cllr Judith Blake, Arif Ahmad, senior partner of PwC’s Leeds office, Dr Adam Beaumont, CEO of aql and Helen Beachall, general manager of Simon On The Streets.
There is also The Festival of Business on October 14, a day-long series of seminars at The Leeds Club, and an event on October 15 hosted by Google aimed at helping businesses learn about how to best reach new customers online.
Leeds Business Week is managed by business networking group The Yorkshire Mafia and last year it attracted 3,500 people to its events across the week.
