Appointments: Savills, Quod, Carter Jonas

REAL estate firm Savills has made two appointments to its Leeds offices.

Associate building surveyor Scott Green has joined following two years with Thomasons.

There he specialised in the maintenance of farm buildings surrounding reservoirs and the reinstatement of commercial buildings following fire and flood damage. Prior to this he held roles at CBRE and Donaldsons.

Martin Hall has also been appointed as a Leeds-based graduate building surveyor.

Howard Morgan, head of Northern building consultancy at Savills, commented: “We are pleased to be expanding the team with five new recruits as a very busy year draws to a close. They bring with them a variety of skills and knowledge which will further enhance the offer of our already strong building consultancy division.”

THE Leeds office of town planning advisors Quod has been boosted with the appointment of James Podesta.

Mr Podesta joins as an associate from strategic land firm Gladman Developments.

He has 11 years’ experience in private sector planning in Leeds prior to that.

Tim Waring, director in charge of the Leeds office said: “Quod North has seen considerable growth in their business during 2015, due to the rising regional economy. We’ve grown our team to match our client’s needs and James is an excellent addition to the team given his experience and expertise.”

PROPERTY consultant Carter Jonas has expanded its Boroughbridge offices with a new hire.

Oliver Newby joins the team as a graduate surveyor in its rural team.

He gained a BSc Honours degree in Rural Studies from Newcastle University before completing an MSC in rural estate management from Cirencester University.

John Hoddinott rural partner said: “We are very pleased to welcome Oliver to our team here in Boroughbridge. His enthusiasm for the industry and eagerness to learn is a welcome addition to the organisation.”

Carter Jonas employs 26 graduates a year and has taken on around 5 in its Leeds, Harrogate, York and Boroughbridge offices in 2015.
