Travel firm gets a move on with bank funding

TRAVEL company, Welsh’s Coaches, has expanded with the purchase of three additional vehicles.

With funding from Barclays, the family-run firm has been able to expand its fleet that carries customers across the UK and overseas on coach holidays.

The Pontefract firm, which was established in 1967, also has a site in Doncaster, and has been able to purchase two tour coaches and a mini coach to add to their portfolio.

Welsh’s Coaches Ltd employs fifteen people across the two sites and turnover for the current year is expected to exceed £2million.

Judy Welsh, director, Welsh’s Coaches Ltd said: “We started out in 1967 as a private hire firm and have since steadily grown the business – now providing first class coaching holidays.

“We’ve banked with Barclays since we started and it’s great that they have been able to support our growth with the new funding. With the growing popularity of the staycation holiday we can offer everything from day trips to two full weeks organized holiday and our air and cruise programme continues to expand for 2016.”

Bryn Sutcliffe, senior business banking manager at Barclays put together the funding package for the deal and said: “It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future.
