Heavyweights join TechNorth board

A YEAR after the TechNorth project was announced by then-Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, a board has been announced for the initiative.

The new board members include David Richards, chief executive of listed Sheffield firm WANdisco, Hugh Campbell, managing partner of GP Bullhound, Alex Depledge, chief executive of London-based Hassle.com, Mike Bracken, chief digital officer of the Co-operative Group, and Lee Perkins, UK managing director at Sage.Claire Braithwaite of Tech North

Board member at Government-backed Tech City UK, Herb Kim, took the top spot as executive chairperson of Tech North in March, alongside Claire Braithwaite, head of Tech North.

The organisation ahs recieved £2m funding from Innovate UK to support and attract investment and enterprise in the Northern technology sector.

Herb Kim said: “We’re extremely happy to have recruited such an esteemed group of leaders to help us realise the potential of Tech North and the North’s digital ecosystem.

“Tech North is lucky to have access to some of the most experienced digital entrepreneurs and business leaders in the North of England.”
