Vehicle parts company keeps to its Castleford roots after funding win

CASTLEFORD vehicle parts company Imexpart have expanded their offices and warehouse after support from Barclays and the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

Imex’s new facilities provide an additional 12,000 sq ft of office and warehouse space, including a training centre, which has safeguarded the heritage of the company, which was planning to move out of the region.

Staff numbers at Imex employees are set to rise by 20% from the current 68-strong workforce as a result of the funding of £100,000 it received from the LEP.

Imex owner and founder Arthur Pinkney, said: “This is the company’s most ambitious expansion programme and secures our future in Castleford. We can now increase our product range and open up new markets.”

Roger Marsh OBE, chairman of the LEP, added: “It is crucial we support our established businesses so they can secure their future in the City Region. Imex are a great example of a company, who with LEP help, can now reach their full potential, explore new markets and deliver further employment opportunities for local people. “

Jon Lowe, Barclays relationship director said: “It’s been great working with Arthur and his team helping to ensure the new headquarters remain in Yorkshire. The funding we have provided will secure growth for the future of the business and contribute to the economy of the Yorkshire region as it takes on more staff and develops for the future.”

The company has been located in the town since 1986, supplying national coach and truck fleets.
