Caddick goes green for £2.5m education contract

CADDICK CONSTRUCTION has completed a £2.5m scheme at a Bingley school.

Eldwick Primary School underwent major reconstruction over the past year, with three extensions totalling 27,000 sq ft expanding the school’s main campus.

Knottingley-based Caddick completed the works during the school year, and also modified the buildings to become a sustainable campus that can adapt to climate function changes.

Caddick Construction has been on-site for a year to deliver a significant expansion and enhance the school’s sustainability measures. Three new extensions, in the region of 27,000 sq ft, have been added to the existing school campus.

Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction, comments: “We’re really pleased with the work delivered at Eldwick Primary School. A key element of the brief was to develop a carefully phased construction programme to avoid disruption to teaching and to ensure the school could remain operational throughout the works.

“The extensions have been built sustainably with an air tight construction, high performance windows and timber cladding, which will enhance the thermal performance of the building.

“The expansion and enhancements that we have made will go a long way to future proof the school’s accommodation and I hope all the pupils and staff at Eldwick enjoy their new environment.”
