Storage firm all packaged up with funding deal

A SELF STORAGE company has expanded with a new site in Scunthorpe.
Managing director of Selby Self Storage decided to expand into Scunthorpe after the success of his original venture, with a funding package from Barclays.
The new unit, Scunthorpe Self Storage, has created five new jobs. Turnover for the company with the added site is expected to exceed £1.5m next year.
The businesses provide automated self-store for the general public as well as businesses.
Ross Stewart, owner of Selby Self Store said: “We’ve seen fantastic take up at the new business in Selby and so I decided to launch a second site in Scunthorpe.
“It occurred to me that we didn’t have any storage facilities locally and the retail park in Scunthorpe seemed a great location to launch the second site.
“Barclays provided an innovative and flexible funding package for me to expand and the unit provides high end modern self-store facilities that people locally are finding invaluable.”
Kelvin Smith, relationship director at Barclays arranged the funding and said: “It’s great to see a fast growing local business taking advantage of low interest rates and investing for the future, creating jobs and contributing to the local economy.”
