Insurance firm to move 100 staff to Wellington Street

INSURANCE firm Towergate has become the latest company to choose Wellington Street as the next home for its business after it signed a 10-year lease on space at West One.
The Wellington Street area has been transformed in recent years and is increasingly dominant in attracting larger employers.
Craig Burrow, director of West One owner Bruntwood, described the deal as “another example of the renaissance of the western side of the city centre”, while Knight Frank partner Eamon Fox believes it is “one of the most important office deals in the centre of Leeds this year”.
Towergate is moving its 100 staff half-a-mile from Armley Road to the seventh floor of West One. The insurer has taken 8,299 sq ft at £22 per sq ft.
“This is a new chapter for Towergate in Leeds having outgrown our existing premises,” said John Simpson, regional director at Towergate Insurance. “There is something special about Leeds City Centre as a place to work and we feel being geographically close to our insurance partners in Leeds gives us a real advantage.”
