Property developer snaps up former North Yorkshire mill

PROPERTY developers Candelisa have bought up a former mill site in North Yorkshire.

The firm are intending on redeveloping the 291,852 sq ft site off Cononley Lane in Cononley, which they bought for an undisclosed sum.

Candelisa will created a mixed-use residential and commercial scheme on the site of Green Mill.

Guy Taylor, managing director of Candelisa said: “A condition of the purchase is that we fully engage with all interested stakeholders regarding our plans.

“Similarly we are keen to develop the site sympathetically, working within the fabric of the original building and retaining the industrial heritage for future generations.

“The inclusion of commercial space in our long term plans could also create some exciting employment opportunities.’

The existing mill building is earmarked for apartments to include recessed balconies and large windows to maximise the natural light.

Candelisa employs 15 people and has approved planning permission in place to build 291 homes in areas including North Leeds, Harrogate and the Craven District.
