Five financial firms in Yorkshire named and shamed for compensation failings

COMPANIES in the Yorkshire financial services sector have been named and shamed by authorities after they were declared to be in default.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has said that five companies in Yorkshire and one in the North East

Consumers could be in line for compensation, as the FSCS has said that it is satisfied that the companies are unable to pay claims for compensation made against it.

The companies include:
General Insurance

Haws & Barkers (Kia) Limited, Leeds

Crown Financial Solutions, Country Durham

Home Finance

Boothferry Consultants Limited formerly Townends Financial Consultants Limited,Goole

Investments

Remnart Agencies Limited formerly Capital & Investment Brokers Limited, Hull

Life and Pensions

Mortgage Zone Financial Services Limited,Mexborough
The Pensions Office Limited, Sheffield

Mark Oakes, head of communications at FSCS said: “FSCS protects consumers around the UK when authorised financial services firms cease trading. It protects your deposits, investments, home finance and insurance, and it’s free for consumers to use.
