Budget airline Ryanair adds 75,000 extra seats to the sun

IRISH airline Ryanair is adding 75,000 seats to Spanish destination Malaga for summer 2016, including extra from Leeds Bradford.

Up to eight additional flights have been added to the schedule, adding up to thousands of seats throughout the summer.

The announcement follows a record year for Leeds Bradford Airport in 2015, when it reported 3.4m passengers through its doors, with around 70,000 passengers passing through through the festive period.

Other airports that are benefiting from additional seats include Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow Prestwick, Liverpool, London Stansted and Manchester.

Ryanair’s sales and marketing executive, Lisa Buckley, said: “Due to the high demand for sun holidays to Malaga, we have added an extra 75,000 seats across the UK, giving customers more choice when booking their summer holidays.”

Popular destinations include the Canary Islands and Geneva, which serves the French Alps, Amsterdam and the Polish city of Gdansk.

The regional airport is welcoming new flights this year: Vueling is jetting to Barcelona and Aurigny will link Yorkshire with Guernsey. Both are new airlines to Leeds Bradford.
