A taste of Bombay comes to Leeds

A RESTAURATEUR is launching a new Indian restaurant in Headingley.

The Khana Bombay Café is opening on 10 February.

It is being launched by Adam Karim founder of Rosso Restaurant in Manchester, a joint venture with former professional footballer Rio Ferdinand. £1.5m was invested in the development of the Manchester eatery.

Mr Karim also owns Italian restaurant Don Giovanni.

“Khana incorporates the sense of the Bombay community in food,” said Mr Karim.

On the menu are classic Indian dishes such as the Ruby Karim as well as tapas style half grilled chicken and lamb chops covered in Indian spices and charcoal grilled in the open kitchen.

The restaurant will also have a lounge bar serving cocktails concocted by Leeds-based bar group The Hedonist Project.
