Appointments: Barclays, Debt Managers, Clarke Group

TWO appointments have boosted Barclays’ York team.

Relationship director Kelvin Smith joins the corporate team. His remit will cover businesses with turnover in excess of £5m.

James Lee as a business banking manager. He will be responsible for looking after the needs of local businesses with a turnover of £400,000 up to £1m in the York, Brigg, Selby and Goole areas.

Mr Lee has worked at Santander, having started his career as a personal banker.

Steve Hanson, head of Business and Corporate Banking for Barclays in Humber and York commented: “Recruiting talent from both within Barclays and externally is key to our expansion plans and both Kelvin’s and James’ experience with local businesses will be a huge asset for the customers across North and East Yorkshire.”

Debt Managers senior management additionsTHE senior team at Debt Managers has been boosted following authorisation by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Commercial director Robert Matthews joins from Credlink Account Recovery Solutions with 15 years in the industry.

James Perkin is taking on the finance director role at the firm, following a career at Baker Tilly and debt collection agencies.

The Rotherham business, which is part of AIM-listed Secure Trust Bank, is also joined by Lisa Danks as collections manager from Bluestone Credit Management.

FAMILY business Clarke’s Group has appointed a group health and safety manager.

The Northallerton business is a third generation family business. It has been joined by Gill Elstob, a former asbestos specialist at North Yorkshire County Council.

Graham Deuchars has been hired as national marketing and business development executive, after 35 years in the industry.

Managing director Richard Clarke, said: “Gill’s reputation is second to none in the region and Gill and Graham’s combined expertise will add considerable value and be instrumental to the group’s dynamic expansion and vision as we continue to grow our client base with talented people.”
