Indian restaurant from serial entrepreneur creates 13 jobs

A SERIAL entrepreneur has launched her newest site, in Headingley.

Alison White received funding from the Business Enterprise Fund to launch Indian restaurant The Cat’s Pyjamas.

She created 13 jobs with the opening on Otley Road.

Ms White collaborated with Michelin-starred Indian chef Alfred Prasad on street food dishes including railway potato curry, inspired by food served on trains in India.

The Cat’s Pyjamas opened in a vacant shop front on the same street as her other venture, café and deli White’s, which she opened in 2014.

The Business Enterprise Fund offered a start up loan for the new business.

Ms White now has plans to open a second venue, creating more jobs.

“I looked at vacant property in the area and then decided what to do with it. I researched the people of Headingley and they were screaming for a good quality Indian restaurant. The area has been lacking one for over 20 years,” Ms White said.

“The Business Enterprise Funding has ignited a bustling business with huge potential” said BEF investment manager John Hall.
