MARKETING company The Wrapped Agency has been appointed by Leeds Community Foundation.

The Leeds Community Foundation attracts donations from philanthropists and business leaders and distributes grants to vulnerable people across the city.

The project work includes brand strategy, creative, PR and digital marketing in the run up to a new launch in May for the charity.

Kate Hainsworth, development director at Leeds Community Foundation, said: “Getting our message out to the Leeds business community is an essential part of our work and The Wrapped Agency is providing us with marketing consultancy on the launch of a new project in May.”

Rachel Clark, brand director at Wrapped, added: “We’ve been looking to partner with a local charity since our launch last year and we’re so pleased to say we are helping to bring Leeds Community Foundation’s work to life. It’s a great way to use our skills for an excellent cause and to showcase what we do best.”

AN optical App has been launched by a York-based software company which allows people to book eye appointments with their opticians – the first of its kind available through independent opticians across the UK.

The MySight App aims to ease making or changing appointments for patients who are on the move. Even where no internet connection is available, the MySight App allows users to view their eye test results, check when they are next due to visit for a further examination or contact lens aftercare, and view photographs of their retina.

MySight App, available on both Android and IOS devices, was designed and built by Optix Software, a business management software provider for leading independent opticians throughout the UK.

Trevor Rowley, managing director of York-based Optix, said: “The truth is that the optical industry has been way behind the curve in providing online services. People expect to be able to arrange their whole lives online, with access at times and locations that suit them rather than the service provider.

“The phenomenal success of our initial online MySight release last year shows that there are significant commercial advantages for practices that offer these services, and the launch of our new MySight App will extend the service to an even wider audience.”

YORK PR and communications agency The Partners Group is celebrating two new account wins.

The firm’s B2B experience and specific knowledge of the property and construction sectors has led to its appointment by commercial glazing manufacturer Dual Seal Glass and anti-slip flooring company Polydeck.

In addition, Partners is working with Bristol-based Polydeck. The company’s anti-slip flooring products are widely used in residential properties, commercial and industrial premises, public buildings, railway stations, foot bridges, and hotels.

Monica Green, director at The Partners Group, said: “These two UK manufacturers are leading the way in creating high quality, specialist products for their key markets. They’ve got some great stories to tell and strong growth plans, which we hope to accelerate with our PR and marketing input.”
