100 year-old property firm makes HQ move

PROPERTY company Barnsdales is relocating.

The 110 year-old business has completed a double move as it expands, separating its commercial and residential offices.

The company has launched the Barnsdales Living brand in Hallgate, Doncaster, and moved its commercial, facilities management and property auction businesses to Sidings Court, next to Lakeside Village.

The creation of the facilities management business prompted the move to a 2,800 sq ft office at Sidings Court.

Current staff numbers are at 17, with plans in the works to add to the business in the coming year.

Managing director Jason Barnsdale, who is the fourth generation of the Barnsdale family to take the helm at the business, said: “We have developed the skills of our staff, modernised our brand and improved the way we do business.

“When I arrived I set a target of doubling our turnover by the end of 2016 and we are on course to achieve that with 20% growth this year and the same in 2017.”

Mr Barnsdale arrived at the business in 2007 from working in London, and fellow director Niall Macpherson added his investment expertise in 2014.

Mr Barnsdale said: “We are active across South Yorkshire and into Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire as well as many other parts of the UK.

“We are becoming a national business but Doncaster has been our home for more than 100 years and this move shows our commitment to the town.

“The investment which was announced by the Council points to a very exciting future for Doncaster, starting with the opening of the FARRS link road.

” We are heavily involved in that project with the Council and other partners, and our own business plan is all about growth.”
