Logistics firm puts money behind Leeds United

ENTREPRENEUR Steve Parkin, the man behind Clipper Logistics, has announced that the business is to become the new sponsor of the East Stand at Elland Road.
The deal will see Clipper’s branding on the gable ends of the stand as well as the front roof fascia.
In February this year, the East Stand was the site of a fan protest, when a consortium of fans paid for a projection to urge Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino to leave the club.
Costing fans £2,600, the projection was carried out by EMF Technology, which projected a naked Gail Porter on the Houses of Parliament in 1999.
Steve Parkin, executive chairman of Clipper, said: “As a lifelong Leeds fan, I’m delighted to have the business I’ve built over the past two decades become a sponsor of the club.
“It will expose the Clipper name to a global audience, as we continue to grow as a business and help shape the future of retail logistics. This association is a great partnership between Clipper and Leeds United, and I look forward to seeing it flourish.”
Leeds United’s executive director, Paul Bell, added: “We are delighted that Clipper Logistics Plc has chosen to sponsor the East Stand here at Elland Road.
“Clipper was founded in Leeds and has been a huge success story for the region, expanding across the UK and into Europe. We are delighted to welcome them into our commercial partner’s programme. We look forward to working with Steve and the rest of the Clipper team on this partnership.”
Leeds-based Clipper provides logistics solutions and e-fulfilment to the retail sector in the United Kingdom, with a growing business in Germany, with clients including ASOS, The John Lewis Partnership, Asda, SuperGroup, Morrisons, New Look and Tesco.
