In Brief: Azzure IT; Merrion Centre; Ryden

AZZURE IT, based in Shefield, has been recognised for its rapid growth in this year’s GP Bullhound Northern Tech Awards.

The north’s 50 fastest growing tech and digital companies, based on their turnover between 2013 and 2015, were revealed at a ceremony in Liverpool.

Azzure IT, which provides Microsoft Dynamics solutions to businesses, was listed in tenth place.

The award comes after being named the 11th fastest growing tech company in the UK by Deloitte in its UK Technology Fast 50 table last year, a result based on turnover growth figures for the four previous years.

Azzure IT’s managing director, Craig Such, said: “We came to market offering IT products and services that today’s companies were crying out for. Our expertise in both cloud-based and on premise IT solutions mean that we can give our customers systems that change with them, rather than asking them to invest in software which might not be appropriate five years down the line.

“The extent of the growth we’ve enjoyed since starting up four years ago is down to the superb team we have created at Azzure IT.”

FOREIGN exchange business eurochange has extended its lease until 2026 and relocated to a new larger unit in Merrion Centre.

Previously situated opposite The Works, the business has relocated next to the Bonmarché store, increasing its branch size from 100 sq ft to 500 sq ft.

Merrion Centre is currently part way through a £50m phased investment and refurbishment strategy which has already seen the car park refurbished and Merrion Way units redeveloped. Over the last 18 months a number of tenants have extended leases and taken extra space, including the recently refurbished and extended Morrisons.

Helen Green, associate director for Town Centre Securities, owners of the Merrion Centre, said: “Merrion Centre had a record breaking December footfall and this has continued into 2016. We look forward to a successful 2016 with further improvements and investment during the year. We acknowledge that our existing tenant’s needs and space requirements change over time, and we are always keen to work with our tenants in order to accommodate them.”
