Appointments: Gordons, Winder Power, Thornhvac

LAW firm Gordons has promoted three new partners in the company’s corporate, property and litigation teams.

Duncan Firman joined Gordons eight years ago, advising clients on corporate matters with a focus the leisure and hospitality sectors.

He was involved in the sale of Bradford’s Redhead International to German logistics giant DB Schenker; advised brewer Timothy Taylor on the expansion of its hotel portfolio; and advising Yorkshire-based insurance firm JM Glendinning on its acquisition of AS Green, an independent insurance broker.

Michael Finnett joined Gordons in 2011 and since then has acted for a number of developers including Orion Homes and Mandale Homes

Third new partner Graeme Davy has been with firm since 2002 and advises businesses involved in litigation and other forms of dispute resolution, as well as leading Gordons’ debt recovery unit.

POWER and distribution transformer manufacturer Winder Power has hired a group manufacturing director.

Keith Robertshaw joins the business following a role as general manager at the Newton Derby division of Leeds-based Winder Power.

The new role will see Mr Robertshaw take responsibility for production, procurement, health & safety and the quality and environmental systems.

Laurence MacKenzie, chief executive of Winder Power said; “We are absolutely delighted to be making this appointment.

“We’ve known Keith since he joined us last year and have been thoroughly impressed by the contribution he has made.

“Having someone with Keith’s drive and expertise take up the new position of Group Manufacturing Director will be invaluable to the company, and we see him as someone who will help us considerably as we continue to grow and develop the business.”

RECRUITER Thornhvac, a specialist focusing on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning sectors, has appointed Clare Swain to its Leeds office.

She joins from Ruskin Air Management where she was area sales manager. Ms Swain has previously worked in distribution sales roles with Polypipe.

Thornhvac director Jason Thornhill said: “Clare’s industry knowledge means she understands the skills required by employers in the domestic heating sector and her sales background gives her the communication and negotiation skills needed for a career in recruitment.

“She will be sourcing good quality candidates for positions in both the UK and overseas, including vacancies for sales engineers, sales manager, R&D engineers and trainers. “We are delighted to have Clare on board to further strengthen our team as we continue to grow.”
