Appointments: Schofield Sweeney; Harris+Co; Redfern; Advanced Digital Institute

CORPORATE lawyer Steven Millward has been promoted to partner at Schofield Sweeney.

Mr Millward specialises in corporate and commercial law acting for a range of clients from SMEs through to large national companies.

He trained with Schofield Sweeney and has over 10 years’ experience of advising on a variety of transactions including corporate acquisitions and disposals, management buy out and buy-ins, joint ventures, shareholder and partnership arrangements, fundraisings, refinancing and reorganisations.

Managing partner Martin Sweeney said: “Steven is a highly regarded lawyer and a well thought of member of the team. I’m delighted to recognise his achievements through his promotion.”

Mr Millward added: “Having trained with the firm, I’m delighted to be joining the partnership.  We have a large corporate and commercial team which continues to go from strength to strength.  I look forward to working with the team in my new role and developing both existing and new client relationships as both our clients and the firm continue to grow.”

The firm, which recently merged with Armitage Sykes, now employees over 150 staff across offices in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield.

Harris and CoBARNSLEY-based chartered accountants and tax advisers Harris+Co has promoted Ian Bragger, Nichola Hawden and Tom Wotton as associate partners.

TRAVEL management company Redfern has made a key appointment as it looks to further expand its portfolio of clients.

Louise Hutchinson-Chambers joins Redfern as head of account management following a long and successful career at Thomas Cook which spanned almost 25 years.

She held a number of senior management positions, which included heading up the customer legal function for almost 15 years and a number of project management, sales and commercial roles.

Ms Hutchinson-Chambers also spent a period of time on secondment in London working alongside Thomas Cook’s group chief executive delivering and managing a portfolio of projects as part of an extensive transformation programme. Most recently, she worked for niche travel lawyers mb LAW, based in Leeds.

Advanced Digital Institute Jak KellySALTS MILL-based technology research and development firm Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) has appointed Jak Kelly as project manager for its Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) project.

Previously a project manager with Tunstall Healthcare and Pace, Mr Kelly will have the responsibility of managing the development and evolution of the CAMHS digital health platform in liaison with strategic partners including the Anna Freud Centre and Leeds CAMHS Services.

He said: “This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the development of the next generation of digital health technology. The CAMHS digital health platform will help to reduce the burden on mental health services and help children and adolescents living with mental health issues to better manage their condition.”

ADI was founded as the research and development innovation agency by Yorkshire Forward. In 2010, with the disbandment of Yorkshire Forward, the company became independent and has gone on to win a host of awards for its work in technology and healthcare with private and public sector clients around the world. The company currently employs 25.
