Development group snaps up former motor parts site

THE investment sale of a 52,000 sq ft distribution unit in Doncaster has been completed.

Developers Jack Lunn have acquired the building, a former Dixons Motor distribution unit, from Henry Boot.

It is occupied by Boxes & Packaging, a cardboard manufacturer. The company signed a 10-year lease for the site in October 2015.

Henry Boot invested in the refurbishment of the building before selling it. The company took on 150,000 sq ft of units, and has only two units of 30,000 sq ft and 18,000 sq ft remaining.

Vivienne Clements, Director at Henry Boot Developments commented: “We are extremely pleased to announce the investment sale of the Boxes & Packaging unit.

“The sale represents a strong yield, and as a developer we are pleased to see confidence from investors in the market for properties such as those at Thorne Park.”

Carl Wright, property director at Jack Lunn (Properties) Ltd, commented: “We are very happy that the purchase of the unit at Thorne Park has completed. Henry Boot Developments are consistent in the quality of the units they develop and this is an excellent addition to our expanding Yorkshire property portfolio.”

Smith & Co, acted on behalf of the purchaser, and JLL and Eaton Commercial, acted on behalf of the vendor and brokered the investment deal between Henry Boot Developments and Jack Lunn.
