Overseas investors buy major Kirkstall gateway site
OVERSEAS investors have acquired a 261,000 sq ft tract of land on Kirkstall Road.
WSB Property Consultants, on behalf of Kirkstall Road Ltd, sold the prime Leeds site for development.
The site is occupied by First Group and forms part of the Kirkstall Road ‘Renaissance Area’.
Property agents say that it offers potential for mixed use development. Across the road, Clyde Ltd recently secured planning permission for a student residential and commercial space.
The sale of the Kirkstall Road site follows the sale of the 106,722 sq ft Bridge Street site by the same fund earlier in the year to Singapore based Heeton Holdings, a deal also brokered by WSB Property Consultants LLP and JLL.
There, planning has been submitted for a 78,490 sq ft 182-bedroom hotel, with plans for future phases on the remaining land yet to be announced.
Elsewhere on Kirkstall Road, 40,000 sq ft Airedale House was sold last week to GM Legato in a deal worth £6.6m.
