Club operator breaks through £100m turnover barrier

THE operator of PRYZM in Leeds and Kuda in York is celebrating its fourth consecutive year of growth with record turnover of £101m.

The Deltic Group saw underlying EBITBA growth of 16.8% to £13.4m while profit before tax up rose from £3.7m to £4.3m in the year ended February 27 2016.

The company, which invested £1.3m in PRZYM Leeds creating 50 jobs, said its growth strategy has centred on refurbishing under-invested sites, recruiting sales teams in key venues to drive pre-booked sales, further diversification into the bar market and selective acquisitions.

Chief executive Peter Marks said: “It is very heartening to report these excellent results which reflect the hard work, capital investment and imagination of everyone at Deltic.

‘‘We now have the ideal platform to be the dominant late night player in each of our 58 clubs and bars. Our ability to respond to customer trends, backed by our financial firepower, gives me confidence in Deltic Group making further progress over the coming year.’’

Regional operations director Brett Collier said: “PRYZM Leeds and Kuda York have played their part in the group’s strong trading performance. We are all about delivering memorable experiences and great nights out. The success of these clubs shows we understand what our customers want and we will continue to build on their attraction as vibrant and exciting late night venues.”
