Plans unveiled for Wellington Street site

NEXT week, Leeds City Council will convene to discuss two major residential proposals for the former Yorkshire Post HQ site on Wellington Street.
Stirling Investments is priming the development, and received planning consent for some 650,000 sq ft of mixed residential, offices and retail and leisure uses in February 2015.
Now it has emerged that an 11-floor residential site has been proposed under a built to rent scheme, with 237 bedrooms, a development which replaces the hotel that had been proposed for the southeast section of the site.
Planners at Quod have also drawn up blueprints for a 70+ space car park.
Stirling acquired the site in early 2014 and is developing a major mixed use site with the scheme.
MEPC’s nearby Wellington Place development was completed earlier this year, with tenants including Squire Patton Boggs.
