There are so many fantastic places to choose, Upper Wharfedale beyond Yockenthwaite is a real favourite as is Littondale and the walk from Arncliffe up the valley and back

I would love to take a trip down Gaping Ghyl

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?
The most memorable meals are always centered around my family and probably the most memorable was my 50thbirthday meal at the Three Acres at Shelley, wonderful food and wonderful company.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?
That’s a hard question but on balance I think that I’m a very friendly and welcoming bloke, always happiest when chatting to people including total strangers wherever I am.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.
The fact that in the 2012 Olympics, had Yorkshire been a standalone country we would have come 12th in the medal tables (7 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze)

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?
It has to be the Yorkshire Three Peaks (Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) and in particular the Three Peaks Walk which I have done more times than I can remember since I first did the challenge when I was 19 years old.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?
Some of our Yorkshire towns and cities are still struggling to become places fit for future generations, and yet there are many thousands of people in councils, schools and business who put so much effort into making positive change, it takes time for sure to stop the decline that has been going on for decades

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?
Why would you want to bring anything to Yorkshire – it could only be second best! ok maybe bring the lake district closer

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?
Very sorry can’t think of anything!
