New owners to pump £1m into country events venue

THE news owners of the Country Park Inn on Hessle Foreshore in East Yorkshire have announced plans to invest £1m in the events venue over the next two years.

Walkington-based Country Park Leisure completed the purchase of the events venue, hotel and restaurant two months ago and has now set out a vision for its future.

Director of the company, Andy Deacon, said: “The Country Park Inn enjoys a truly unique location on the bank of the River Humber and we were delighted to be able to buy the venue earlier this year.

“We have lots of exciting developments planned and are determined to restore its reputation as East Yorkshire’s leading events venue.”

The guest accommodation offered in the adjoining Country Park Lodge is to undergo a boutique-style upgrade.

Planning permission is already in place to add another 45 guest bedrooms and Country Park Leisure said it will be progressing these plans in the near future.

The function room will also receive a make-over and there are plans to carry out improvements throughout the venue.

Mr Deacon added: “We believe that The Country Park Inn is a sleeping giant and we want to give it the investment that it needs and really drive it forward. We’ve assembled a great team here, made up of both new and old faces.

“With Hull taking centre stage in 2017 as the UK City of Culture, we want to provide a first class events venue, affordable, casual dining and a hotel that the area can really be proud of.”
