Gift shop wraps up lease deal

A GIFT store, recently listed as one of the top 10 independent shops in York, has renewed the lease on its premises in the city’s Fossgate.

Give the Dog a Bone opened 13 years ago, selling unusual presents, homeware and greetings cards. The business employs 10 people.

Owner Adam Rodway has renewed the shop’s lease for 10 years. Langleys Solicitors in York acted on the lease deal.

Mr Rodway said: “Fossgate is a great location for the shop and the area is becoming pretty vibrant with new businesses opening and the development of the Macdonalds furniture shop into a restaurant.”

Give the Dog a Bone also sells online and was recently listed as one of the top 10 independent shops in York by Angela Horner, chair of Fashion City York.

Emma Warner, partner in commercial property with Langleys, said: “Give the Dog a Bone is one of York’s best known independent shops, selling something that bit different. We are pleased to have supported Adam in his lease renewal and wish him every success with his business.”
