Interiors business creates £40m company with acquisition

LEEDS fit out and office interiors business Southerns Group has created a £40m turnover business with its latest acquisition.
The business has acquired Broadstock Office Furniture in a move that will see the enlarged group have more than 200 employees.
Broadstock is a Macclesfield-based business supplying the commercial, education and government sectors.
This follows and acquisitive year last year for Southerns, which acquired its Bolton-based namesake, as well as Manchester-based Ralph Capper Interiors in March 2015.
The group grew revenues to £18m in the year to June 2016 with the acquisitions, and now it is set to more than double.
Southerns also received investment last year from Clipper Logistics chief executive Steve Parkin’s private equity vehicle Knaresborough Investments Ltd.
Broadstock is headquartered in Macclesfield, Cheshire, and Middleton, Manchester where it has extensive operational and client facing facilities.
Southerns’ Chief Executive, Andy Kendall-Jones will continue to head the combined business. Nick Munsch, who together with other family members were the majority shareholders of Broadstock, will continue within the business.
Andy Kendall-Jones commented: “We are delighted to welcome Broadstock to the Southerns Group. Its people and infrastructure will add significant capability to the wider group, and we look forward to working with Nick and his team to continue to take the business forward.”
