Property team secures double appointment from Canada Life

LEEDS-based property consultancy Sanderson Weatherall has been appointed to manage two Canada Life owned properties in the heart of Manchester.

Sanderson Weatherall will be responsible for the day-to-day management elements of the multi-let office buildings, located at 52 and 54 Princess Street.

The appointment also sees the company take service contract management which comprises studying lease information, authorising tenant works and administering service charge budgets.

The Leeds property management team has been working alongside Sanderson Weatherall’s building surveying department in Manchester, which has led extensive refurbishment work on both properties.

Ben Wood, fund manager at Canada Life, said: “These buildings provide unique and inspirational office accommodation with a stripped back New York loft style. This part of Princess Street is becoming a highly sought after location within the city centre of Manchester.”

Canada Life, a wholly owned subsidiary of Great-West Lifeco, began operations in the UK in 1903 and looks after the retirement, investment and protection needs of individuals and companies.

Matthew Lawrence, partner at Sanderson Weatherall’s Leeds office, said: “We are delighted to be working with Canada Life. Both properties are highly multi-let and have received retro fit-outs, making them slightly different to your classic office instruction.

“By working closely with the property management team in Leeds, and the Manchester building surveying department who has overseen extensive refurbishment works at both properties, Canada Life has been able to take full advantage of our integrated service offer.”
