REGENERATION business Keepmoat has launched its £20m Hull home scheme.

The business will provide 229 properties at the project in Hawthorn Avenue East in partnership with Hull City Council, Places for People Homes, Pickering and Ferens Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

90 homes will are being built as part of the first phase, 84 for rent and the remainders for private sale.

It is part of a major £150m housing and regeneration scheme; in which Keepmoat is delivering 1,457 new homes in the Newington and St. Andrew’s area of West Hull.

Keepmoat regional managing director, Mark Knight said: “The success of our work so far in Hull has been a direct result of the ongoing commitment from our partners. We have all worked together to invest in the economic growth within the city, while completely transforming priority neighbourhoods.”

“It was fantastic to have all representatives together to celebrate another key milestone within this project. We’d also like to thank the wider community for their ongoing trust and positivity during this development.

“We are wholly committed to continue investing in the local community and we are proud that 80% of our workforce on this scheme is employed from the local area.”

Housing and Planning Minister, Brandon Lewis said:” I am pleased these much needed new homes will be built in Hull.

“This is another example of how government funding is able to support cities like Hull to create successful places for people to work and live. This investment helps to meet local priorities for housing and growth, supports a range of construction and professional companies working on the scheme, and gives greater choice to people who dream of owning their own home.”
