Entrepreneurs set to open Sheffield VIP bar

AN EXCLUSIVE bar to rival Leeds and Manchester’s vibrant nightlife is set to open its doors in Sheffield this weekend.

The former home of Menzels, which is undergoing a complete refit, will offer a champagne terrace and a whisky lounge named after David Beckham’s own brand, Hague Club.

Pot Kettle is a joint business venture between Pete Harpham, Mark Holland and David Nicholson, aiming to give the people of Sheffield a VIP experience on all levels.

Sheffield-born Mr Harpham said: “It’s a totally different experience to what’s available in Sheffield at the minute.

“The whole venue’s VIP. Rather than paying for a VIP area and service, we’ve got six waitresses to serve anyone in any region of the venue, whether they have a table or not.”

He added that customers who have booked a table at 301 Ecclesall Road will get an “extra, special experience”, unlike any other VIP service.

“It’s going to VIP experience but it’s not going to be a pretentious venue, it’s more a fashion venue than a shirt and tie venue.” he said.

Mr Harpham said the cocktail bar is pitched against venues in other cities like Manchester and Leeds and is “not competing with any other bars or clubs in Sheffield”.

He said: “The city has been waiting for something like this and it’s already creating a big buzz. Pot Kettle has been a long time in the making and we can’t wait to get started.”

As well as serving cocktails and champagne, the venue will be offering juice and coffee during the day. The bar is to be the only late bar on Ecclesall Road, boasting a 2am license.

The trio are planning to host different events every weekend from salsa nights to cocktail masterclasses. The bar, which has created 20 jobs, will also offer a range of bar snacks, sharing platters and light bites.
