Historic York hotel amongst minimum wage offenders

TWO York hotels, a motor group and electrical contractors were among those named yesterday as minimum wage offenders by the Government.
The largest-ever list of 198 companies owed nearly £500,000 in wages to staff.
In Yorkshire, 17 companies were named, between them owing £42,972.40 to their workers.
Some of the worst offenders were TM West Plumbing Services of Leeds, which owed £12,617.76 to 2 workers, GC Motors on Ripon Road in Harrogate which owed £2,328.83 to two workers and KLS Electrical Contracting, a Goole-based company which owed £3,619.70 to one worker.
York hotels The Black Swan Hotel, founded in the 15th century, and McLeod Hotel trading as Beechwood Close Hotel in York owed between them £7,362.86 to 23 workers.
Halifax-based Omega Proteins Ltd, Halifax, owed £8,977.51 to 5 workers Normanton’s Your Electrical Supplies Services & Solutions, Philips Hair Salons Ltd, Wakefield, owed £1,904.00 to 4 workers

Poundstretcher Ltd, Huddersfield, owed £182.94 to 2 workers
Newline Care Home Ltd, Bradford, owed £116.31 to 1 worker
Yorkshire Chimney Supplies, Harrogate, owed £1,264.76 to 1 worker
The Cutting Rooms, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, owed £1,132.65 to 1 worker
Sunnybank Day Nursery Ltd, Leeds, owed £1,083.45 to 2 workers
William Priestley Salon Ltd, Halifax, owed £830.69 to 1 worker
Lifestyle (Abbey Care) Ltd, Richmond, North Yorkshire, owed £775.12 to 1 worker
Earn Extra 139 Ltd, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, owed £453.48 to 1 worker
