500 Amazon jobs set for logistics park

ONLINE delivery giant Amazon is creating 500 jobs at a new site at Doncaster’s iPort.
The logistic park, which provides 6 million sq ft of warehousing space, will see a new fulfillment centre built. It is due to be completed by summer 2017.
More than 1,000 people will work for Amazon in the town once the unit is completed.
It will be the US company’s third fulfilment centre in Doncaster. It opened one in Balby Carr Bank in 2010 and another in Water Vole Way in autumn 2015.
Amazon has been investing in the whole Yorkshire region this year, having signed up to an 80,000 sq ft site at Logic Leeds earlier this year.
John Tagawa, vice president of UK operations for Amazon said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be creating 500 new permanent full-time jobs with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits starting on day one by opening our third fulfilment centre in Doncaster in summer 2017.
“We already have two fulfilment centres in Doncaster so know from experience that there is strong talent in the region who would be well suited to working for Amazon.”
