Top 10 must-reads this week including Pure Gym’s IPO, top law firm lists and more…

THE news finally arrived this week that Leeds-based Pure Gym would be undertaking an IPO.

One of the major success stories to come out of Yorkshire over the past few years, Peter Roberts’ gym chain has made the leap to become a public company, raising a solid £190m in the process. It was rumoured as far back as April that it was in the offing, but perhaps the Brexit decision put the brakes on things.

But things always come in twos in Yorkshire, so the focus will be on another Leeds-based chain to see if they can top that.

The Legal 500 also landed this week, leaving eager lawyers pouring over their rankings – though there wasn’t much movement this year it will be interesting to see the impact of debutants Shoosmiths and Bevan Brittan. In the coming years.
