5 things to do in Yorkshire this weekend

STUCK for something to do this weekend? We’ve put together a list of interesting and occasionally unusual things to try out this weekend as autumn kicks in.
1. Hamlet
Date: Friday 23rd September – Saturday 15th October
Location: East Riding Theatre, Beverley
Shakespeare’s timeless psychological classic, Hamlet is set for the stages of Beverley for the next three weekends. Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, is a man on the edge, torn between the duty he owes his murdered father and the fear he feels at the prospect of revenge. Love, hate, vengeance and forgiveness all battle for dominance in this great tragedy but it is collision and guile that carry the day and bring the state of Denmark to its knees.
2. York Historic pub walks
Date: Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd October
Location: Royal Oak, York
Discover the history of York’s beer & pub heritage and much more with a guided walk through York City Centre. Each walk covers the history of approximately 15 pubs as well as centuries of events, people and spirits associated with them.
Not only will you learn about the heritage of York, but all money raised from the walks will go to charity. If you fancy taking a group of friends along too, the private tour option for groups is also available.

Inspired by the setting of his Nottinghamshire childhood, D.H Lawrence’s tender story shows how three people, reeling from the aftermath of the Great War, struggle to survive in a world which has been blown apart. Expect nudity, scenes of a sexual nature and themes of passion and class.
