People: Manager joins Smailes Goldie Group; Director hire for technical marketing agency; and more

ACCOUNTANCY firm Smailes Goldie Group has appointed a new manager.

Simon Brigham is a chartered certified accountant, whose expertise covers both audit and accounts.

He works with audit clients ranging from medium-sized companies to large groups in sectors including retail, food wholesale and charity, while his accounts work is predominantly with small owner-managed businesses across a variety of sectors.

Prior to joining Smailes Goldie Group, which has offices in Hull and Barton, Mr Brigham spent 13 years working for another local accountancy practice, where he was a senior manager.

He said: “I’m very pleased to have joined Smailes Goldie Group. This is an exciting place to work and I’m relishing the challenges ahead.”

John Ward Salt AgencyLEEDS-based technical marketing agency SALT has appointed John Ward as a director.

Mr Ward, who has over a decade’s experience in the online marketing industry, joins to take over responsibilities in operations and strategic business expansion.
SALT, which is run by co-directors Martin Woods and Reza Moaianadin, is one of the only technical performance marketing agencies in the UK and has expanded its office twice in the past year to accommodate growth.

Mr Woods said: “We are excited to welcome John to the SALT.agency. John’s vast experience working in digital sector for the past 11 years and will complement our existing consultancy offering.”

Mr Ward added: “I am very pleased to be joining team SALT at a very exciting time in the market. Things are changing and business is starting to reject the traditional cookie cut agency approach. Paula Reading Garness JonesGARNESS JONES, the Hull-based property firm, has recruited a manager for its residential team, as it looks to expand its services in offering landlords and tenants rental property management and advice.

Paula Reading will head up the team providing a property management service to both landlords and tenants across Hull and the Humber.

Hans Nieuwkerk, director of property management, said: “Paula brings with her years of experience in client liaison across a number of industries, so she knows how to secure exactly what her clients are looking for. That’s precisely what we’re going to continue providing with our residential service, which we achieve through building a personal relationship with our landlords and tenants.”
