Date: Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th December
Location: City centre, York
For one weekend only the Ice Trail will be transforming York, sprinkling its frosty figures across the city. Returning for another year, the trail will lay out 30 sculptures made from crystal-clear ice for visitors to marvel at. Along with the icy creations, visitors can enjoy festive treats and sip mulled wine. Look out for the ice sculpture encasing a precious gemstone outside Bradley’s Jewellers as it is set to be one of the highlights of the event!
2. Last Laugh Comedy Cabaret
Date: Saturday 10th December
Location: City Hall, Sheffield
Whether it’s for a special occasion, a Christmas party, or just to have a laugh with some of the finest stand up comedians, Last Laugh comedy cabaret is sure to keep you entertained this weekend. The night out also includes food, drink and a disco at the end of the evening.
3. Hollywood on Ice
Date: Sunday 11th December
Location: iceSheffield, Sheffield
Hollywood on Ice returns to Sheffield this weekend with performances from over 200 skaters, including displays from National champions. The skaters will be performing to classic Hollywood movie soundtracks such as Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Flash Dance and several Disney classics too.
4. 500 years of Christmas
Date: Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th December
Location: Temple Newsam House and Farm, Leeds
This special festive weekend event will be recreating 500 years of Christmas celebrations with everything from carol singing and Georgian dancing to Tudor carol Karaoke and a Tudor banquet. Strolling story tellers, wreath making, crafts, mulled wine, a Victorian kitchen and a 1940s farmhouse will also help visitors on their historic journey of Christmas.
5. Moonlit drive-in cinema
Date: Saturday 10th December
Location: Keepmoat Stadium, Stadium Way, Doncaster
Book your tickets online for the old-fashioned drive-in cinema experience and get in the festive mood with this classic Christmas comedy. The film will start at 6:30pm this Saturday.
6. Bugsy Malone
Date: Friday 9th – Saturday 10th December
Location: Whitby Pavilion, Whitby
Whitby Area Musical Theatre company’s youth group return to Whitby this weekend with another fun-filled family show.
Set in 1920s Chicago, Fat Sam’s gang are under threat from a new weapon, the splurge gun. As Dandy Dan moves in on his territory, Sam finds himself surrounded by dancers not mobsters and turns to Bugsy Malone, a loveable rogue.
Made famous by the 1976 film, a gangster tale of thrills, spills and splurges, this all youth production will have you dancing in the aisles and singing all the way home.7. Masquerade ball

Location: Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield
Experience the magic of Masquerade Ball and enjoy a decadent evening of dining and dancing. Indulge in a three course festive meal and enjoy entertainment with live music from The English Gentlemen. The resident DJ will then play dance floor favourites guaranteed to have you dancing the night away.
