Fly high at Roundhay with planned aerial adventure course

CONSULTATIONS have begun on an proposed aerial adventure course in Roundhay Park.

Leeds City Council is looking to gauge public opinion on plans for a ‘Go Ape’ course following a report this year that outlined refurbishment plans for Tropical World, Lotherton Hall’s Bird Garden and Home Farm at Temple Newsam.

It will create up to 30 full and part time jobs for the area

Visitors will travel from tree to tree using safety wires and climbing platforms, according to Go Ape.

People are asked to submit their comments before 7 January 2017 via email (goapeconsultation@leeds.gov.uk)

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for the environment and sustainability, said: “Since the suggestion for a ‘Go Ape’ adventure course in Roundhay Park was announced in October, there has been a lot of people who wanted to engage in the consultation.

“We were keen from the very start that everyone who wished to do so would be given the opportunity to offer their thoughts on the idea. I’m really pleased that the consultation is now open and that the proposed plans around the initiative are available to the public.”
